NASA awards student grant to age Mars

NASA awarded a $496,000 grant to develop a device that could determine the age of Mars.

Regina DeWitt, a research assistant to Stephen McKeever in the department of physics, was born and raised in Germany and completed her undergraduate in physics before attending Heidelburg University to study luminescent dating.

A Stillwater police officer, who worked at Stillwater Junior High, has been accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old girl.

Louis Alvie “Buck” Morris, 48, was arrested and charged on Tuesday with two felony counts of rape by instrumentation and three counts of lewd acts with a minor child.

A changing state of mental health

As the potent liquid disappeared from the bottle, she hoped death would finally end the paranoia, emptiness and depression that came with the serious mental illness she had been plagued with since she was 8 years old.

Creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship will be a new living and learning community’s focus, starting during the fall semester.

“The students will live in an environment that celebrates creativity and encourages them to look towards their college career through a much more innovative perspective,” said Michael Morris, entrepreneurship department head and co-director for the Creativity, Innovation and Entrepreneurship Learning Community.

Students wanting a sweet way to relieve stress during finals week can drown their troubles in maple syrup and strawberries this week in the Student Union.

Monday through Thursday from 10 p.m. to 1 a.m., students can go to the Union and enjoy free pancakes, coffee and soft drinks.

Fire officials shed light on regulations, risks

The wildfires that raged across the state in early April have left many wondering about fire regulations and how they are enforced, Stillwater Fire Department officials said. Stillwater Fire Marshall Trent Hawkins said many residents are unaware or misinformed about what the regulations are and when they change.
