Storming into Oklahoma tonight, Michigan-native Chiodos will take the stage at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa.

Currently touring with Silverstein, Chiodos hopes to find another exuberant crowd with which they can share the music that has come to define the sextet.

Having sold more than 200,000 copies of its 2005 album “All’s Well That Ends Well,” according to the band’s Web site, Chiodos finds itself in an interesting stage of its career.

“We just want to keep it new and exciting,” drummer Derrick Frost said.

Having started its musical endeavors through the world of independent labels, Chiodos worked its way to mainstream recognition, which translated to the popularity of “All’s Well.”

The band has managed to keep its cool amidst its rising stock.

“I don’t really think of it that much,” Frost said. “I wouldn’t say I’m dumbfounded.”

Chiodos’ current tour, taking the group from the Pacific to the Atlantic with a few stops in Mexico, has helped solidify the notion that the band’s music is appealing to the masses who are then purchasing it.

The concern of eventually fading from the limelight is something the band addresses.

“That’s just something you can’t really plan,” Frost said. “You can’t always be the popular, cool band.”

The thought of direction for Chiodos can become a topic of conversation.

“I wouldn’t say we pinpoint ourselves in a corner; we’re always open for anything, but we want to have some sort of direction,” Frost said.

Call it favorable ignorance, or maybe just call it being successful, but direction is not much of a concern lately for Chiodos, especially with the group’s productive past.

“The last year or two has been pretty good,” Frost said.

Downturns on Wall Street have been noticeable for touring artists, Frost said.

“It’s hard lately with the economy being so bad,” Frost said. “This tour is doing really well, surprisingly, with the economy being so bad.”

This seems to be the perspective of the venue as well, said Hunter Rogers, Cain’s Ballroom assistant manager.

“[Chiodos ticket sales are] pretty good, especially with the economy as it is,” Rogers said. “A lot of shows aren’t selling tickets.”

The source of their musical inspiration is rather indefinite and unimportant.

“For all of us, Queen is a big influence, but it just really depends,” Frost said. “We’re six different guys with six different opinions.”

For Chiodos, reflecting a certain image or symbolizing the development of a past style is not relevant.

“We want to play our music to as many people as will listen,” Frost said.

The chart-topping “Bone Palace Ballet,” which peaked the Billboard 200 at No. 5 just last year, is being re-issued to feature bonus tracks.

Chiodos is content with basking in the celebrity attention and not overthinking what should come next.

“We are just kind of waiting it out. Absolutely nothing set in stone right now,” Frost said.
