Beware readers, “Twilight” fever is highly contagious and has been sweeping the world.
Once you’ve taken a bite of this forbidden fruit, you won’t look at a Volvo the same way.
Here is your chance to get a crash course in Stephenie Meyer’s world with the first of her bestselling books “Twilight.”
“Twilight” is the story of Bella Swan, a teenage girl who has moved to the little town of Forks, Wash., to live with her father.
Things seem normal at her new school, except for one small group of people.
The Cullens, the five adopted children of Dr. Carlisle Cullen, are all exceptionally gorgeous and off limits.
Bella is immediately entranced by Edward Cullen, but before she can get close to him, she begins to suspect something.
She realizes that the beautiful and remarkably pale stud she’s been drooling over is really a vampire, but he’s a good vampire.
He only drinks the blood of animals.
The evolution of their relationship, and the danger of having a human girlfriend in a family of vampires make these books one wild ride after another.
The real drama for “Twilight” is the fans who are so devoted to these characters that they’ve split off into teams named Team Edward and Team Jacob.
The teams are devoted to those two characters.
As a diehard Team Jacob person, this book is a bit disappointing since you don’t get to see him very much, but the short scenes the readers see really develop his character.
Jacob is the lovable, goofy friend who shares scary stories with Bella about the vampire myths.
He’s a confidant, but because Bella is totally lovesick over Edward, she doesn’t notice how sweet and caring he is, or that he has his own crush.
But being Team Jacob or Team Edward isn’t just about supporting your own choice of favorite hero; it’s also about putting down the other guy.
Jacob’s love is pure, while Edward is kind of controlling.
Jacob doesn’t have to do much to win this reader’s heart.
Not every girl wants to be read poetry and have someone watch them sleep. Some girls like conversation.
