Residential Life hasn’t received donor endowments for The Village.
Similar to America riding onto the pop charts on “A Horse With No Name” in 1971, many freshmen are riding into their college careers in a dorm without a name.
Some students have yet to experience the luxury of living in campus facilities with more than just a letter designation.
Matthew Brown, director of Residential Life, said The Village living options haven’t been named because potential donors haven’t been identified.
“I really want to get these buildings named,” Brown said.
“We want to find a donor who wants to endow a scholarship to help students with the cost associated with attending college. Room and board makes up about half of that cost.”
Brown said his goal is to find donors who will endow scholarships because of the lack of housing scholarships available.
“In the long run, we want to use any funds to benefit students,” said Brown.
Brown said residential life is adding a proposal to find potential donors to a comprehensive proposal that will be sent out soon.
