A definite way to make your vote count is to register on time.
Oct. 10 is the deadline for registering to vote in the Nov. 4 election, said the Payne County secretary of elections.
Glenna Craig said many places such as post offices, tag agencies, public libraries and health departments have voter registration forms.
Voters can download the form at http://www.state.ok.us/~elections/voterreg.html.
After downloading the form, voters can turn it in at the Payne County Administration offices at 315 W. 6th St., Suite 207.
Voter registration will be available on campus near the deadline, Craig said.
College students who have registered in their hometown will be considered for absentee ballots.
The deadline for absentee ballots is Oct. 29.
To request an absentee ballot, visit http://www.state.ok.us/~elections/absentee.html, Craig said.
If students will be in their hometown the weekend before Nov. 4, they can visit the county election board offices Friday, Saturday or Monday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. to vote.
And although the deadline is Oct. 29, Craig encouraged voters to register for absentee ballots as soon as possible.
also encouraged voters to keep their registration card because it has a voting location on it.
