Tumbleweed’s College Fest opens tonight through Saturday. Big names such as No Justice, Dierks Bentley and Stoney LaRue headline the 10th annual welcome back concert.

The start of the new semester means it is time for the Tumbleweed Dance Hall to throw one of its biggest parties of the year.

The annual three-day College Fest kicks off tonight with plenty of beer and a stellar line-up of country musicians. Students are in for a treat.

“College Fest is in its 10th year of welcoming back the students,” Tumbleweed manager Billy Aldridge said. “We are definitely ready for them to be back.”

Big names in red-dirt country, such as No Justice, Stoney LaRue and Dierks Bentley are scheduled to perform on an outdoor stage to accommodate larger fan bases, while rising bands take the stage inside the Tumbleweed for a touch of local flavor.

Landon Timms, a sports management freshman, says the concert line up is great this year.

“At other concerts in the past there has usually only been one band that I was excited about, but College Fest is filled with so many talented artists,” Timms said.

Those who were lucky enough to secure advanced tickets for all three days paid $40.

The price for the advanced tickets gave Wesley Moore, a general education senior, something to smile about.

“The most exciting part for me is seeing Stoney LaRue and Dierks Bentley play in a matter of two days for the price of one,” Moore said.

Tickets purchased at the door differ in price each night.

The price is $20 on Thursday, $30 on Friday and $40 on Saturday, Aldridge said.
