Point guard Byron Eaton was the second-leading scorer for the Cowboys last year, averaging 11.5 points. Eaton said it was difficult to wait 15 days to find out who his next coach would be, but he said Travis Ford make a good first impression with talk of a fast-paced style of play.
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma men’s basketball team will open Big 12 Conference play Jan. 10 at Kansas State and finish the regular season with a Bedlam game against Oklahoma State March 7 in Norman.
All 16 league games will be televised, including 10 on national networks.
The Sooners will play half of their league games against 2008 NCAA Tournament teams Baylor, Kansas, Kansas State, Texas and Texas A&M. Oklahoma also will face 2008 postseason NIT participants Nebraska and Oklahoma State.
The annual Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship will be played at Oklahoma City’s Ford Center March 11-14.
