(AP) — Skies over Oklahoma will begin to clear on Friday, but more showers are in the state’s forecast.
The National Weather Service said showers and thunderstorms would begin to diminish across the state overnight, with only isolated showers and thunderstorms expected on Friday.
High pressure will begin building into the area on Friday and will remain over the area through much of the weekend. That will bring mostly dry and warm conditions to the state on Friday and Saturday.
A cold front will approach the state on Sunday afternoon, bringing a more significant chance of showers and thunderstorms to the area for the start of the upcoming work week.
Friday will be partly cloudy with highs in the 80s and 90s.
Skies will be mostly cloudy in the Oklahoma Panhandle on Friday night but partly cloudy elsewhere. Lows will be in the 60s and 70s.
The far western Panhandle will remain mostly cloudy on Saturday. It will be partly cloudy elsewhere, and there is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in western Oklahoma. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s with lows in the 60s and 70s.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy in the Panhandle and partly cloudy elsewhere with chances of showers and thunderstorms in the Panhandle as well as southeastern and northeastern Oklahoma. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s with lows in the 60s to mid 70s.
Skies will be partly cloudy on Monday and Tuesday with a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Highs will be in the 80s and 90s with lows in the 60s to mid 70s.
