OSU’s Lyons & Oliver invited to USA Baseball trials

DURHAM, N.C. (AP) — Oklahoma State pitcher Tyler Lyons has been invited to participate in the USA Baseball national team trials.

USA Baseball announced Monday a list of eight players who had accepted invitations, raising the total number of participants to 34.

Another Oklahoma State pitcher, Andrew Oliver, had earlier received an invitation to participate in the trials, which will be held June 11 to 23 at various locations.

On June 24, 22 players will be chosen for the national team roster. The team will play in tournaments in The Netherlands and the Czech Republic and in a series against Chinese Taipei.

Oral Roberts coach Rob Walton will be the national team’s head coach.
