OSU's season-ticket sales are higher this month than the same time last year, in part because of a new Bedlam ticket policy.

STILLWATER (MCT) — As of Monday, Oklahoma State was two months ahead of last year’s football season-ticket sales pace. Perhaps because of the new Bedlam ticket policy, OSU has sold 1,800 more season tickets than it had by this time a year ago.
In order to attend the Bedlam game (Oklahoma at OSU on Nov. 29), Cowboy fans must purchase a $419 season ticket. No single-game Bedlam tickets will be made available.
“We’re having a very good sales campaign, but we have more (seats) than we did a year ago. So, we need to kick it up a notch,” OSU athletic director Mike Holder said. “We need to keep our eye on the ultimate goal — to sell out the stadium, and to do it for every game.”
Last year, OSU sold 33,400 season tickets. For six home games, the attendance average was 40,024. The Cowboys have not played before a home sellout crowd since the 2004 Bedlam contest.
Last year, the Boone Pickens Stadium seating capacity was 44,700. Now, as a result of the ongoing renovation, the capacity has increased to about 60,000.
For the seven-game 2008 home schedule, OSU already has sold about 30,000 season tickets, and that total does not include tickets sold to students. Last year, OSU did not reach the 30,000 mark until mid-August.
“To all of those people who have bought season tickets, thank you,” Holder said. “To those who haven’t, we need for you to get on board with us.”
On a per-game average, OSU’s pricing basically remains the same. For six home dates last season, the season-ticket price was $359 ($59.83 per game). For seven home dates this year, the season-ticket price amounts to $59.85 per game.
