Garth Brooks, an Oklahoma State University graduate, performed a medley of his hits and accepted the inaugural Crystal Milestone Award for being the top-selling solo recording artist in U.S. history and the only artist to have six albums top the 10 million sales mark at the 43rd annual Academy of Country Music Awards.

Rickie Fowler has been named the winner of the 2008 Ben Hogan Award as the top men’s NCAA Division I, II or III, NAIA or junior college golfer, joining past OSU winners Kevin Wentworth (1990), Trip Kuehne (1995) and Hunter Mahan (2003).

While Oklahoma needed a win just to make the tournament, Oklahoma State (40-15, 18-9) was seeking a share of the regular-season conference title. Instead, the Cowboys — who led 2-0 before Oklahoma had the chance to bat — had their regular-season winning streak over their Bedlam rivals snapped at eight games.
