The energy level on campus may have gone up Monday afternoon when the OSU Dew Crew, Leah O’Kelley and Quinn Bigbie, gave out samples of three new Mountain Dew flavors.
O’Kelley, a public relations senior, and Bigbie, a marketing junior, compete with 50 other university Dew Crews to promote Mountain Dew on campus.
“We’re ranked 10th now,” O’Kelley said. “We’re really excited about that. We’re competing against Cornell and Wake Forest; Ivy League schools.”
About 200 students tried the three flavors: Revolution, a super-sweet wildberry drink that tastes, well, blue; Supernova, a tangy strawberry melon; and Voltage, a raspbery citrus blend. All three have “ginseng boosts.”
David Brazil, an English senior, tried Revolution.
“It tastes like Blue Kool-Aid,” he said.
Cheriese Thomas, a finance junior, tried Supernova and passed it around to her friends.
“It’s kind of like Sprite,” she said. “It’s good, though.”
One girl in her group, Elissa Tey, an apparel design and business freshman, said the new Dew was more than just good.
“That’s so good — that’s better than the regular stuff,” Tey said.
