OSU’s men’s tennis team will open the home portion of the 2008 schedule when it hosts SMU and Memphis at the DeBois Tennis Complex this week.
On Wednesday, the No. 15 Cowboys will take on the 44th-ranked Mustangs in a 2 p.m. match. Thursday’s match against Memphis is also scheduled for 2 p.m.
Senior Ivan Puchkarov (No. 31) and sophomore Oleksandr Nedovyesov (No. 10) lead the Cowboys.
OSU enters Wednesday’s match with a 6-4 record despite opening with a rugged schedule that included matches against No. 4 Mississippi (twice), No. 6 UCLA, No. 11 Baylor, No. 29 California and No. 46 TCU.
The Cowboys’ most recent match was a 4-3 victory against TCU on Feb. 24.
“We are excited about playing at home,” coach James Wadley said. “SMU and Memphis are both strong teams, and we are looking forward to them coming to Stillwater.
“Our guys have been playing well against some of the best teams in the country, so we are looking to forward to getting back on the court.”
