TV Tidbits

After a brutal divorce from  McDreamy, the arrival of McSteamy, a heated sex scene with intern Alex and last, but not least, the news that she did not get the position as new chief at Seattle Grace, Addison needed to get away.  So she left to work with her best friend, Naomi from medical school, and now we have the spin-off “Private Practice.”

Even though we were more excited than ever to see Addison arrive at her job, some of her co-workers were less than enthused. As owner of 55 percent of the company, Naomi decided not to inform her partners of her decision to hire Addison.

This upset Violet, the psychiatrist, Naomi’s ex-husband Sam, Cooper, the pediatrician, and Pete, who practices alternative medicine, because the group of partners had an agreement that all additions to the Ocean Side Wellness Group would be voted on.

Similarly to Grey’s, this show has some whacked-out patients, including a woman who demanded her boyfriend’s sperm after he had died from a stroke. Ultimately she obtained the sperm, and Sam and Naomi seemed to find some finality in their marriage.  The show ended with Addison Shepard doing what she does best.  Being fierce!  She is definitely here to stay.

Thursday Preview: Under no circumstances can you miss the season premiere of ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy.”  Also check out Bravo’s “Tim Gunn’s Guide to Style” and MTV’s “Celebrity Rap Superstar.”

How do you not mention “The Office” season premiere. I like watching semi-hot doctors do stupid stuff too, but how do you omit one of the best shows on TV and still find the space to fit in a blurb about “Celebrity Rap Superstar”?

I LOVED IT!!!! I think it’s going to be even better than Grey’s Anatomy.

Private Practice has the potential to be a great show but not on this first show.

Neonatal surgeons do NOT deliver babies. They only care for newborn babies.

Pschologists would never try to treat a patient so out of conrol on the FLOOR in a public place..

An accedited wellness center would be equipped and trained to perform C-sections in an emergency.

Human stories can be partly fantasy but the show should be technically correct.

I thought the show was awful! Bring Addison back to Seattle Grace where she belongs. This show is just plain dumb. The characters are NOT endearing or interesting. This one shouldn’t last long as it is embarassing.

I loved the first two episodes! This show is the sleeper of the year! Addison is still showing her arrogant side, and is not afraid to tell it like it is! This shwo should keep Taye Diggs on primetime T.V.!

The first two episodes were great. The music is absolutely perfect and blends in with the theme, just like Grey’ Anatomy. I can see why it was only one of two new shows to premier in Sept. to make it into the Nielsen top 20. The characters are human, sad, romantic and zaney; which is what makes the show a hit.

Wow! Great cast! Taye Diggs is great in this role. Hope you feature him a lot. Great to see Amy Brenneman again too! Several inaccuracies in medical accuracy, but hey, still a great show!! Keep it coming! Thanks,
