Senators will discuss and possibly debate in tonight’s SGA Senate meeting about a recommendation for OSU to charge students 50 cents per credit hour to finance Orange Peel in fall 2008.
Students would be refunded, at minimum, the full value of the fee through ticket-pricing schemes as the Orange Peel committee will present, according to the recommendation. It also states the fee would run through 2013, when renewal would become an option.
Senators will also discuss giving co-sponsorship to three organizations, Senate chairman Justin Biassou said. He said the three groups seeking co-sponsorship are the Flying Aggies, Society of Black Engineers and the Japanese Student Association.
Speakers attending the meeting include Cara Ferrell from OSU career services, Anne Scott from the OSU alumni center and Josh Neil, the 2007 Orange Peel director.
Ferrell and Scott will speak about the “Countdown to Commencement” program, which prepares students for life after graduation. The program gives insight into dealing with things foreign to many college students, including a 401k and buying property, Biassou said.
The meeting will start at 7 p.m. in Case Study 2 of the Student Union. For more information on the OSU Student Government Association, visit http://www.osusga.com.
