STILLWATER — Red tape on the coin vaults are a temporary addition to the Orange Pride Car Wash at 110 N. Perkins after it was vandalized about 3:30 Sunday morning.
The locks on all 12 of the coin vaults had been drilled open, causing an estimated $480 in damage, according to the Stillwater Police Department.
The vault controls, which hold the coins from the car wash controls, had been forced open but it seemed that no money had been taken, according to the police department.
“We tend to think that it is a group of people traveling through the area, that they are not necessarily from here,” Officer Dale Higgins of the Stillwater Police Department said.
Although the Stillwater Police Department is requesting the public and owners of other car washes to be on the look out, no other reports of similar incidents have been reported, Higgins said.
