Two former Cowboy football players were selected this weekend during the NFL Draft.
The Pittsburgh Steelers chose defensive tackle Ryan McBean in the fourth round, and the New England Patriots selected offensive tackle Corey Hilliard in the sixth round.
They were the only Cowboys picked in the draft.
Larry Brown, Victor DeGrate and D’Juan Woods were not drafted, though they could still enter the NFL as undrafted free agents.
Lousiana State’s JaMarcus Russell was the first pick overall, going to the Oakland Raiders.
Calvin Johnson, a receiver from Georgia Tech, was selected second by the Detroit Lions.
Many draft analysts predicted Notre Dame’s Brady Quinn would be chosen third, but the Cleveland Browns chose offensive tackle Joe Thomas of Wisconsin.
Altogether there were 28 players drafted from the Big 12, including seven from the University of Texas.
