Coaching changes make Van Zant better on the field

Letters to the editor

Bring on newspaper recycling bins

We really need some bins around campus to put our old newspapers in. I read the O’Colly every day, and I feel guilty just throwing them away.

The only bins I’ve seen around campus for recycling paper are in the library, and I think we should have them all over campus in every building.

Mental health just as vital as physical health

Halle Berry made public a past suicide attempt.

Beer-bottle thrower should confess ASAP

It’s been almost one week since Olivia Withington, an advertising and Spanish junior, found out how hard it can be to smile.

I mean that in the most literal sense.

Saturday, after performing at the Seretean Center with the Latin American Student Association, the newly crowned Miss Hispanic OSU headed to Mike’s College Bar. A friend was playing a gig there, so it would’ve seemed wrong not to make the short walk from the theater to support a pal.

Thirty minutes after passing through the doors of the bar, sober and completely keen of her surroundings, Withington found herself on the receiving end of a flying glass bottle, which resulted in lucrative amounts of medical bills atop of physical and emotional scarring.

Educate yourself - stop, drop, roll

The fire safety rules taught when you were younger likely consisted of coloring books and cartoons meant to illustrate the dangers of playing with fire.

Young Buck mixes old and new styles

Hip-hop artist Young Buck comes onto to the music scene with a smash hit and hip-hop heavy hitters right behind him for support.

Young Buck’s debut album, Buck the World, is a mixture of old school gangster rap and hip-hop club bangers.

Hip-hop heavy weight 50 Cent and Sha Money XL for Money Management Group produced Young Buck’s album. Artists such as Snoop Dogg, Trick Daddy, 8 Ball, Young Jeezy and 50 Cent appear on the album.

A track titled “Buck the World,” featuring R&B vocalists Lyfe, shows the softer side of Young Buck. The title track gives listeners a taste of the life of David Brown, alias Young Buck.

Through lyrics, melody and powerful hip-hop vocals, fans can relate to the title track.

On another track, Young Buck introduces a young, soulful female artist on G-Unit Records named LeToyia Williams. In “U Ain’t Goin’ Nowhere,” Young Buck discusses his need for love because gangsters need love, too.

With Williams’ R&B vocals, Young Buck’s hip-hop vocals and the incredible beat, this song is bound to be the next single off Buck the World.

Cans for hope

OSU greeks raced head to head to build canned goods sculptures in the Student Union Atrium on Thursday. All the canned goods raised went to Stillwater’s Mission of Hope, and the proceeds raised from the Greek Week events went to the Eddie Sutton Alcohol and Substance Abuse Center. This was the first year the event [...]
