Jon Cordes placed first when he crossed the finish line with a time of 8:40.89. With times of 9:06.13 and 9:21.43, Kevin Connolly finished fourth and Scott Rantall finished fifth.
Melvin Sanders, the Cowboys’ only field competitor, competed in the triple jump at the Drake Relays Saturday, but he did not place.
Saturday’s meet was the last of three meets the Pokes were competing in this week. The other was the Penn Relays in Philadelphia.
