Advice from mom

Q: How would you describe your relationship with Ellen?

A: I think it’s more like a friendship now. That’s what happens when we get older and our children get older. She doesn’t need a mother anymore — she needs a friend. I’m there to support her when she needs it; to give her moral support when she needs it. We’ve always had a very special relationship. Maybe it’s unusual, but we have been very fortunate.

Q: What are the greatest challenges facing gay people in the United States?

Therefore, they don’t need big government to run their lives for them.
