Is any tribute fitting?

Published: January 30, 2001

Far too soon.

Do you retire jersey numbers?

Do players wear numbers to honor fallen teammates? It is something that has not been talked about much yet, but it will be brought up soon.

These ideas are some initial reactions from our hearts:Don’t retire the players’ numbers. Let future players honor the ones the Cowboys lost. Rather, retire the number 10, in honor of each life that was lost in a frozen Colorado meadow Saturday.

Anything else that happens — naming locker room or press rooms for players or media members — will be appropriate. No tribute is truly fitting. They all work. But, retiring No. 10 is a real good place to start.
